Oxford University and it's colleges collectively invest around £2bn. At the moment, very few colleges have Socially Responsible Investment policies - so much of the money they hold is invested in the Arms Trade, in Tobacco, Extractive Mining and other unethical business activities. Recent research by Campaign Against the Arms Trade revealed that Oxford is the 2nd largest University Investor in the Arms Trade.*

The Oxford Socially Responsible Investment Campaign ( www.srioxford.org.uk ) is calling on the University and its Colleges to draw up and implement Socially Responsible Investment policies - to make sure the money they invest isn't supporting unethical activities, and activities that run against the very principles of educational establishments. The Oxford Socially Responsible Investment Campaign believes that each college should be actively thinking about and making its own decisions on what constitutes a socially responsible investment in consultation with its students, staff and stakeholders. Having a transparent Socially Responsible Investment policy is key in this happening.

Many Oxford colleges are actively seeking donations from former students and other donors to increase their funds and endowments. By signing this pledge you can send a clear message to the University and its Colleges that potential donors want to be sure that their money is invested ethically.
